We walk across our territory, expertly guiding people of all ages to discover the beauties of this natural reserve, a Unesco world heritage site since 2004. In these years we have walked along all the paths that unwind through the 18.500 hectare protected area, consisting of ploughed fields, rolling hills, a volcano, woods, thermal waters and natural reserves. We did this with the curiosity of a child, discovering unknown perspectives and unspoiled environments, areas and territories only seemingly inaccessible.
We now feel the need to share our discoveries with anyone who loves walking.
Departing from the Pieve di Corsignano we go towards the landscape which has made the Val d’Orcia known throughout the world, mount Amiata and its views, the Chapel of the Madonna di Vitaleta.
From Montalcino, known all over the world for its Brunello wine, we go to the Benedictine abbey of Sant’Antimo with its beautiful and simple architecture, built with materials of rare beauty such as alabaster.
This is a circular route running along the river Orcia and climbing to the castle of Ripa d’Orcia. The return walk is via Vignoni Alto with splendid views over Montalcino, San Quirico and Castiglion d’Orcia.
From Villa la Foce we take the road running through the woods, with Monte Amiata always in sight, pass through the small hamlet of Castiglioncello del Trinoro with its spectacular view over the valley and then head towards the highest point of the Nature Reserve where one can admire a stunning view of the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana.
OVVAI takes care of the entire organizational process, from the registering phase to the final transfer. Thanks to a network of connections built on the territory with companies and professionals, Ovvai can enrich its excursions by adding activities and experiences aimed at providing personalized packages for different needs. Below are some of the options available, to which you can always add extra activities in order to make your experience truly unforgettable.
For those who love holistic practices we propose days of open air practice among the rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia under the guidance of qualified instructors.
The Val d’Orcia is a magnificent area under many aspects: one of these is the wine that is produced here. We have created a tour for those who love the nectar of the gods, we will discover the lesser-known producers of the area, their vineyards and secrets, and appreciate the flavours and aromas that make this wine unique.
For all those who love hike excursions with a backpack on their shoulders. We will take you to stunning and hidden places, climbing up rugged slopes in the search of beauty, no matter how much effort will be required to reach it, it is the journey, not the destination, that matters.
Nothing is more enjoyable than a walk with a delicious meal at the end of it, prepared by expert hands and waiting for you under a shady beech tree on a welcoming tablecloth. We are in contact with the best local producers, to offer a picnic with genuine organic products from the territory.
